User Experience
& Interface
.

During my time at ICONICS, I learned a great amount about user experience and interface design. I was thrown into the deep end and had to pick most of my knowledge up as I went along which involved a lot of trial & error. I feel that now I have a greater understanding of what makes a successful workflow and how design can help influence and assist the user.

I have got to work with some very talented people and have realised that this experience in this area has helped aid other elements of design in other areas such as print and marketing.

Mapping Elements.

Something that I am very proud of achieving during my role with ICONICS is the re-design of the map elements that are shown in our apps. In the example of what we had before, you can see that the map looks too busy and each element is too detailed creating a cluster of mess across the screen.

When you hover over the image, you will see the design changes I implemented to make the overall user experience more pleasurable. I simplified the elements so the screen feels more 'app-like' and simplified. I catagorised the groups of furniture and spaces into colours which gives the user an instant visualisation of spaces that are bookable as opposed to wayfinding items.

This design has now been rolled out globally and is seen in some of the largest office spaces in some of the most important cities across the globe.
